The CROYA Adult Board
The original CROYA Adult Board was established in 1980 shortly after the City Council of Lake Forest released a study they led called “The Report of the Ad Hoc Committee on Youth Matters to the Lake Forest City Council.” See Board History. Today, CROYA is highly visible and widely recognized in its communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. With a dedicated staff of three supported by an administrative assistant, CROYA is praised by youth and adults alike for its contributions to teenage life. Such recognition has won its status as a well established and autonomous government organization, striving to meet a variety of youth needs with rare understanding and community support.
The CROYA Adult Board has maintained its outstanding reputation for working in partnership with schools both public and private, community members and civic groups – bringing together stakeholders with diverse perspectives and a common goal to enrich the lives of local teens.
The CROYA Adult Board includes residents from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, school personnel, and the chairman of the Senior High Youth Committee. The Adult Board functions as a resource to the CROYA staff and youth, providing guidance and support when needed to ensure continued success with youth-initiated programs. Committee members are recommended by the Adult Board, and are appointed by the Lake Forest Mayor and Lake Bluff Village President.
